Padua-Concordia Sagittaria-Aquileia-Grado-Trieste

The Auto Club Nazionale delle Forze di Polizia with seat in Udine, via Magenta, 14 present the new edition of the event not carried out during the 2007 in a new manner with departure in Padua and arrival in Trieste along the ancient roman roads Annia and Gemina named Trophy Patavium-Tergeste along the Roads Annia - Gemina.

To the previous editions, organized in cooperation with the Municipality of Trieste, took part crews members of the Police on modern cars and bikes and members of the Police and European citizens on vintage cars and bikes arrived from Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Hungary. The crews’ members of the Polices took part in uniform on cars and bikes with the official colours and on duty together with European citizen with the spirit of “Police among the citizen” for a new Europe and the purpose to increase the peace and the knowledge of the population members of the E.U.

The planned program (subject to change) is:

Friday 3^rd Oct: arrival of the participants in Padua, guided visit in town, free entrance for the concert of the Official Brass Band of the Italian Police.

Saturday 4^th Oct: departure of the participants to the 2 events from Padua to arrive in Grado in the afternoon.

Sunday 5^th Oct: from Grado to Trieste.

Further information and the costs will be given during the next months.

Trophy “PATAVIUM- TERGESTE along the Annia and Gemina ways”

A route along rivers ,ship canals ,lagoons ,canals ,bridges ,aqueducts looking for roman traces and also ancient and current  gastronomic discoveries.

The route winds along the ancient roman way Annia from Pataviun (Padova)  to Aquileia and along the Gemina way from Aquileia  to Tergeste (Trieste).

We will meet in Padova on Friday afternoon October 3^rd , for the greetings with authorities, a tour in the city and the concert of the “ Fanfara of the State Police”. The Department of  Italian Police, through the Police H.Q. of Padova will show the “ Police Mobile School Coach and the Circuit for a safe driving, with micro bikes and quads and the Lamborghini Gallardo .We are going to have dinner at the 12^th floor of the Hotel Mantegna **** where we want to spend the night .The rally start is going to take place on Saturday morning October 4^th  from the Square of Saint.

The teams, besides the documents necessary for the rally, will be given explicative documents to be able to appreciate the way.

In the first leg ,from Padova to Tessera , the route “ Annia” is laid upon the so called “ Riviera del Brenta” where there are about 50 villa  of the “Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia” following one another, from Stra to Fusina.

Our rally, this time, wants to be a sequence of legs to discover signs of the ancient Romans from Altino to Musile di Piave , from Ceggia to Julia Concordia and Portogruaro. In Musile di Piave we will have a brunch by the ancient restaurant “Alla Fossetta”, historical pub of the Veneto Region.

In Concordia Sagittaria there will be a halt as this is a Roman and Paleo-Christian archaeological place. We are going to pass through  Portogruaro to arrive in Morsano al Tagliamento by “Villa Tambucco” property of the Earls Della Torre and here we want to have lunch.

After lunch the Annia way  goes toward Latisana. There, we cross the Tagliamento river toward Palazzolo, Carlino and Aquileia, to conclude in Grado for dinner and overnight stay by the Hotel. This time we will not be welcome by the Paleo-Christian Aquileia, but by the  Roman Aquileia with the river port ,the forum, the paved street, the mosaic flooring preserved  into the National Archaeological Museum. In the restaurant “Ai Patriarchi” you can have an afternoon snack according to the recipes of the ancient Romans. Grado is waiting for us for a short visit near the hotels and a moment of music.

On Sunday morning  October 5^th  we go again through Aquileia  to begin with the Gemina way.

The route goes not far from the state road ,following the information of historians, towards S. Canzian d’Isonzo, Ronchi dei Legionari and Monfalcone. A short break in the centre for a snack to go on towards the spring of the Timavo river and Duino.Just a look to the Timavo mouths and then we continue the way along the karstic plateau toward Aurisina and Prosecco , going down towards Barcola. We go on toward Trieste and we arrive in the Square” Unità d’Italia”  where the Police Mobile School Coach of the Italian Police and the circuit for a safe driving with micro bikes and quads and the Lamborghini Gallardo are shown.

The lunch buffet by the old “Caffè agli Specchi” will be followed by the prizes with the presence of the authorities.

Then  a “See you next year for a new meeting”, with a gift for all the teams .
